Fr. Elias received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in German, Latin and Comparative Literature from, Southern Methodist University, Dallas Texas. Fr. Elias received his Masters in Arts in German from University of Oregon, and a Master of Theological Studies from Seabury-Western Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. Fr. Elias received Ph. D. in German from Ohio State University, and a Doctor of Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation, Indiana, and a diploma from St. Stephen's Course in Orthodox Studies. Fr. Elias was a clergyman in a denomination for almost 25 years. Fr. Elias and Presbytera Rose were chrismated January 13, 2002, at Saints Constantine and Helen in Cheyenne, WY and welcomed home by Fr. Peter Harrison, Fr. Gabriel Nicholas (Hieromonk), and Fr. Dean Talagan. Father Elias was ordained a Deacon on January 7, 2004, in Bayard, with His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah presiding, and was ordained a Presbyter January 25, 2004, in Assumption Cathedral, Denver. He served Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, Bayard, NE, for ten years and three months. Father Elias has also served as a chaplain at the Eppley Addiction Treatment Center, Scottsbluff, NE, as well as an Independent Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (private practice), a student of Tae Kwon Do and recreational piano. Fr. Elias married Rose Lee Christe, (Rodoula Chrysoulis) in Dallas, Texas, in 1964. Their daughter Kirsten and her husband Steve Carrell currently live in Beatrice, NE and have two children, Galayna and Tevan. Following Fr. Elias’ retirement in 2014, he and Presbytera Rose moved to Omaha, from Gering, NE.
